Today was a successful day for the Eastview Lightning boys XC team at their first meet in Perham. The Varsity squad was able to take second beating multiple ranked teams in the state. senior Luke Bakken and junior Owen Sampson medalled finishing 4th and 7th. The next 3 guys to score on varsity were Cooper Peplinski, Wesley Johnson, and Weston Dahlmeir. All 3 are heading into their sophomore year and had amazing races setting PRs of 17:04, 17:07, and 17:27 respectively. Rounding out the varsity squad were freshman Aiden Glass and sophomore Brady Bill. Aiden’s time of 17:27 ranks him as the 7th fastest freshman in Eastview school history.

In the JV race the lightning took 3rd and their first runner Bodey Loberg got on the JV podium finishing 7th. Despite losing a shoe a half mile into the race, junior Reed Munson was able to finish the last 2.5 miles with only one shoe on to be the Lightning’s second runner on the day. Rounding out the top 5 were sophomores Austin Larsen, Rhys Haight, and Ethan Hegy
